Just finished installing these and am pretty pleased with the outcome. Yes, the housings are plastic! But a lot of the Gladiator is plastic too. The led lights are solidly built and encased and change from red to white when car is in reverse! My Jeep had halogens, wiring included resistors, easy to do the connections and worked first thing once plugged in. The housings required some sanding and refining prior to paint. I think they look great painted the body color of the Jeep. They fit well with the contours of the Jeep’s body. They make the Jeep looks at once more streamlined and more vintage truck—I think it’s better than the F-150 looking Oracle flush lights.
Only one niggle. The black rubber grommet that seats the main pill shaped light does not seat the way it’s shown in the supplied directions. Pictures on the internet show the proper configuration of the grommet. The grommet must be seated correctly to accept the light. Suffered with this for half an hour with soapy water before realizing the grommet had to be pulled 3/4 of the way into the plastic housing to fit the light. It all worked out, highly recommend if you’re not into the needlessly chunky taillights.
